For speech 3, I’ve felt my outlining process getting better. I want to work on keeping it more concise in the future, but I was satisfied with its organization. It was helpful not only having it as reference material, but the process of writing the outline worked as a nice sketchpad for my ideas. It helped me organize them, expand with subpoints, and allowed for some reflection before practicing for the dry run and final speech.
Something I could work more on is my eye contact, I feel like I spent too much time looking at the camera. With this, I did stumble on my words a couple of times, which makes me think that maybe I could have benefited from reviewing my outline a little more or following it a little better.
On a different note, I was not satisfied with the lighting or the background of where I shot my speech. I was out of town for the weekend and didn’t have my usual setup which I felt dropped the video quality. Also, there wasn’t enough light in my shot which made it a little grainy. Ultimately, I feel like this is yet another notch on my public speaking belt and I look forward to improving from here.
